Lake Livingston

Although created for water supply purposes, the major secondary benefit of outdoor recreation resulted from the construction of Lake Livingston. The Trinity River Authority operates five boat ramps around the lake which allow free public access to the lake. Sailing, skiing, jet skiing, canoeing, paddleboating, and speed boating are all types of activities enjoyed on Lake Livingston.

Double Lake Recreation Area

Canoes and paddleboats can be rented at the concession stand at Double Lake which also has groceries, ice, and other items for sale. Bass, bream, and catfish have been stocked in Double Lake, and fishing is permitted under applicable state laws.
