Lake Livingston State Recreation Area
Lake Livingston State Recreation Area is on Lake Livingston off FM 3126, six miles southwest of Livingston in Polk County. The 635.5-acre park was built by the Trinity River Authority in the 1960s. The state acquired the land for the park in 1972 and 1973. The heavily wooded terrain supports a wide variety of wildlife, ranging from raccoons and opossums to warblers and other woodland birds. Park facilities include camping and picnicking areas, three boat ramps, a marina, a bathhouse, and a beach for swimmers.
